Dear 4th Grade Parents,

We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We were very excited to share such a wonderful day with those of you who joined us on our field trip and all of our students. The field trip was very successful and we would like to thank all of you for making it such a wonderful day. Everyone seemed to enjoy both the cultural site and the museum and it served as a great segway into our Arizona history unit.

Upcoming Dates

Music Concert:
Believe it or not, the fourth annual mandatory Archway Lincoln Spring Concert is fast approaching.
It will be held on Thursday, April 4 at the
Higley Center for the Performing Arts
4132 E. Pecos Road Gilbert, AZ 85295.
The K-2 concert will be 5:30-6:30 p.m. with students arriving at 5:15 p.m.
The 3-5 concert will be 7-8 p.m. with students arriving at 6:45 p.m.
Attire for concerts is as follows:
Boys: White dress shirt, black pants, black dress shoes, and black socks. Hair should be combed neatly.
Girls: White top, black skirt (black tights optional), or black dress pants, and black dress shoes. Hair should be styled neatly.

Academics this week:

Language Arts:

  • Writing/Grammar:  We will review and identify components of a piece of narrative writing, produce a group-written narrative essay

  • Literature: This week we will continue reading Carry on Mr. Bowditch, with a focus on vocabulary, conflict and resolution.

Science: We will continue our review for the AIMS science test which will take place on Wednesday 3/27.

Math: This week we will continue our study of angles.

History:  We will continue our Arizona history unit and begin our study of the regions of Arizona and prehistoric people who inhabited the land.
